Johns variety of Elderberry Canes are productive, full season plants. They grow 8-10′ tall, have large fruit clusters. Johns are vigorous and winter hardy in our Zone 4 in SE MN. Johns is not self-pollinating, so you need other varieties for cross-pollination. Each piece of cane will have two nodes that should send out roots and shoots. Canes will be cut in late February/early March and be ready for propagating.
